Who We Are

A women-led movement for women and girls.

VoiceByHer Women and Girls Empowerment Initiative (VBH) is a women-led Nigerian NGO, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, working across all regions; rural and urban because equality of access is central to who we are.

Our Story

From one channel to a movement.

VoicesByHer started as a storytelling platform on YouTube (@voicesbyher), where women come to tell their stories, what they went through, what traumatised them, the journey they have taken to learn and heal, and where they currently stand with their health. After each story, experts join to advise and encourage the storyteller on how to heal properly.

To formalise and grow this work, the platform was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as VoiceByHer Women and Girls Empowerment Initiative (VBH). Beyond storytelling, VBH now runs two further pillars; GBV Prevention & Response, and Women & Girls' Empowerment through vocational and technology skills. Everything we do sits within these three thematic areas.

Our Mission

To amplify the voices of women and girls, prevent and respond to gender-based violence, and equip women and girls across Nigeria with the skills and support to lead independent, dignified lives.

Our Vision

A Nigeria where every woman's story is heard, every survivor finds a path to healing, and every girl has the tools to build her future.

What We Stand For

Our values.

Dignity & Anonymity

By choice, every woman decides how, and how much, she is seen.

Equality Across Regions

Every community matters equally, North and South, rural and urban.

Survivor-Centred Care

Her safety, healing and choices come first in everything we do.

Non-Discrimination

Open to all women, without bias of any kind.

Evidence & Transparency

We track qualitative stories and quantitative outcomes openly.

Women-Led Leadership

Built and governed by women, for women and girls.

Founder's Note

Esther Adeyinka

"When a woman is heard, she begins to heal. When she is equipped, she begins to build. We exist so no woman tells her story into silence."

What began as a single channel where women could simply be heard has grown into a structured organisation working on three connected fronts. Every story shared, every skill taught, and every survivor supported is a step toward a Nigeria where women and girls lead dignified, independent lives.
